Johannesburg, South Africa: speculation set social media alight last week when the Guns N’ Roses official website let slip that the band would be including a South African date into its Not in This Lifetime world tour. At metal4africa, we don’t call it “official” until tickets sales are announced; which became a reality today.
Big Concerts revealed on its website that tickets will be available to South Africans on 7 June. Prices range from R515 to R1540.
Guns N’ Roses will perform at the FNB Stadium on Thursday 29 November. The tour includes key members of the classic line-up with Axl Rose, Slash, Duff McKagan and Dizzy Reed. Other members of the current line-up to join at intervals in the band’s history include Richard Fortus since 2002 and Frank Ferrer since 2006. Melissa Reese came on board as an additional musician with the return of the classic members in 2016.
Guns N’ Roses: Appetite for Destruction
The hype train left the station in May already. We learned of the re-release of Guns N’ Roses 1987 monumental Appetite for Destruction debut album. The remastered and expanded version includes a whopping catalogue of previously unreleased tracks, photos and collectable packaging.
Timing seems to be everything, and the world is clearly ready for a fresh dose of this classic. Keep up with South African updates via the official facebook event page.
