A Six headed Dragon – Last Year’s Tragedy Interview

In an effort to further open the gateway into African metal, I had a digital beer with the guys from Last Year's Tragedy, one of Kenya's foremost metal bands. For Readers that don't know, LYT is classified as metalcore, but even this hardened viking digs their sound. I know that this is a website dedicated to metal, but Juggernaught have bigger balls than a lot of metal bands in my opinion. Fusing bluesy riffs and lyrics with hard hittin' rock, this band ain't one to push aside. And besides, I haven't met a single metalhead that doesn't dig it like wors!

Myrath: From Far North Comes a Storm of Sand

I first heard of Myrath from a close friend of mine. She had been researching African metal and its reach, and had stumbled across them. The first song she played me had me absolutely enthralled; I didn't realise that such well-written metal was coming from our "Dark Continent". I got in touch with them, and they were all too happy to answer the few questions I could muster.
