Cape Town, South Africa: hard rockers Haiven are warming up for the launch of their self titled debut EP this weekend. Having emerged on the scene as early as 2013, the band has evolved between a number of member changes and eventually transformed into the powerhouse that it is today; particularly since the arrival of a new front man, completing the band in it’s current 2016 guise.
“Then came along Dean Coche, completely changing the vibe of the band – not only sound wise, but performance wise as well. It is hard to explain what has changed in the band, but we and people who have been supporting Haiven for a while have noticed a change; lets call it a step in the right direction” ~ Ruan Booysens (guitar, Haiven)
With that momentum gained, the band then shifted recording into full swing during April and May at Nu Faith Studios with engineer Franco Cronje, and mastering by Tim Feder. The self titled Haiven EP will feature a massive 16-page booklet with all design work done by the band’s bassist Shaun Herholdt, to be launched live on Saturday 01 October at The Rabbit Hole. A few audio samples are available to whet appetites at Haiven‘s soundcloud page.
