Boston, USA: roaring to surface with its first album since formation in 2016, Lesser Glow unveils Ruined this week. Swathed in textures of Doom Metal, Post Rock, Shoegaze and other atmospheric sensibilities, Lesser Glow‘s six-track debut release makes landfall on Friday via Germany’s Pelagic Records.
Lesser Glow, because less is more
The band of seasoned musicians introduces itself in the current guise as “crushing minimalism” and paying homage to its members’ past roots. Former bands include the likes of The Proselyte, Black Elm, Irepress, Max Jupiter and Undersea.
“With ‘Ruined’ we set out to simply make heavy music. There was no meditated preconception of genre or specific end goal, but more a true amalgamation of influence and focused frustration that shaped the sound. Thematically, ‘Ruined’ comments on humanity’s perpetual ability for self-destruction, both in solitude and in numbers. Willingly ignorant, we are doomed to repeat ourselves through cyclical consumerism.” ~ Andrew Nault (drums, Lesser Glow)
Today, African territories are enjoying a full stream of Ruined prior to the formal launch on 8 June. Pre-orders are available currently via the Pelagic Records website.
