Thrashers from Cape Town, Rukuz, have announced today that Joe will no longer be performing with the band. Joe, as he is simply known to most, has enjoyed an illustrious career in local metal. He first emerged as a youthful front man for the now-defunct death metal band Azrail, before standing in temporarily for Bulletscript and contributing sporadically with various projects. This journey led him to Rukuz where he has been member since even before the band appeared under that name in 2013.
“Much appreciation goes out to our Vocalist Joel Azrail, who has unfortunately left the band to focus on travels and future endeavors. He is a legend and not many I know match his caliber as a person, a friend and a musician. Thanks for all the good times, the crazy shows and situations that we have endured as a band.” ~ Matty Olivier (guitarist)
Joe will be joining the band only for interviews which have been pre-scheduled for 09 and 16 April on UCT Radio before his final send-off. Needless to say, the band is now on the hunt for a front man:
“If there are any folks out there interested in joining up with the RuKuZ crew and fancy themselves as a front man, drop us a message. We will hook one hell of a jam!” ~ Matty
The band can be contacted vie the Rukuz official facebook page inbox.
