Strident to Collaborate with Choir for Upcoming Album

On October 27th 2012, South African power metal warriors, Strident, will become the first South African metal band to collaborate with a professional choir. Acastella, a Stellenbosch based choir, is comprised of hand-picked current and former members of the Stellenbosch Choir, which is currently rated the #1 choir in the world. They will be performing under the direction of celebrated local arranger and orchestrator, Antoni Schonken. The session will take place at Stellenbosch University Studios, and will be helmed by the internationally-renowned recording technician, Gerhard Roux, as well as legendary producer Jo Ellis. The recordings will be featured on Strident’s upcoming album, When Gods Walked the Earth, which promises to be one of the most musically ambitious albums to have been produced on the African continent.

The sessions will be celebrated that night at the Halloween Slaughter III show at Aandklas, Stellenbosch, where Strident will perform alongside Suiderbees, Megalodon and Bulletscript.
