Cape Town, South Africa: returning from a brief hiatus after the September 2017 departure of long-time guitarist is industrial experi-metal band Terminatryx. Catch the band live, now as a three-piece performance, this Saturday 5 May at ROAR.
Terminatryx and Metal United World Wide
The significance of Saturday’s show extends beyond only the return of Terminatryx. It makes up only one line-up from dozens of line-ups for metal shows taking place in countries all over the globe; two in South Africa alone. This is Metal United World Wide, where 5 May is the coordinated date for shows spread across 42 nations.
And yet, there exists even another layer of significance, as the Cape Town show will double as an urgent fundraiser; assisting www.metal4africa.com founder Patrick Davidson in a time of need.
“So it is not only exciting for us to be a part of this global event, but more so in honouring Patrick Davidson for everything he’s done and sacrificed for local Metal for well over a decade. It was sad too see him leave as our guitarist of about 10 years, but he remains a brother, friend, and godfather to our animals.” ~ Paul Blom
Terminatryx is joined on Saturday by fellow local acts: Atlantic South; Holo; Last One Alive; and; With Dawn.
Embarking on a new chapter, this Terminatryx performance will also be the first as a trio without Patrick, Paul switching from live bass to guitar. As co-composer recording all guitars and bass, this will be the first time Paul hits the stage with 6 strings in stead of 4. For full event details, visit the official facebook event page.
