Cape Town death metal band The Fallen Prophets are poised for the final stretch towards the release of their debut album. Boldly titled Slaughtered On The Altar, the aesthetic fits in delightfully with the band’s live presence and stage get-up – typically drenched in blood. The Fallen Prophets have unleashed a few snippets of tracks from Slaughtered On The Altar to entice fans into supporting their album release fundraising show which takes place tomorrow night at ROAR (visit the official facebook event page), along with a monster lineup of some of the most uncompromising death metal sounds the city has to offer.
With the recording now complete, the band hopes that the fundraiser show will generate enough income to finance a printed edition of the album which they can release independently.
“We need to make cost of the album a little bit easier on our pockets because, as every musician knows, its not at all cheap to do.” ~ Francois van der Merwe (guitar/high vocals, The Fallen Prophets)
Whilst the release of a print edition in the new year depends very much on funds raised this weekend, The Fallen Prophets are planning to release digitally before the end of December. In the video below, the band’s excitement for this milestone to be reached after being one of the most active gigging acts in the city over the last year is clear. We wish them all the best!
