METAL4AFRICA ’22 – JOHANNESBURG
Sep 3 @ 3:00 pm - 11:30 pm
JOHANNESBURG, welcome to the fold!
Actually, its welcome back… for M4A. The last concert we hosted in Gauteng was way back in 2010, and one of the band’s we featured was legendary Wrust from neighboring Botswana.
And so, Gauteng, in the post-lockdown world we greet you face-to-face once again to celebrate Friendship and Metal, spanning cities and, indeed, nations. Because to mark the occasion we’ve invited Wrust back and they’re bringing along their fellows from Gabarone, the worldly-travelled Skinflint. What’s more, you’ll get to enjoy some inter-provincial visitors too, including Peasant from Cape Town and FenrisWulf from Mpumalanga. Closer to your own homes, we’re also working with Deity’s Muse, Resurrection of Fetal Remains, and newcomers to the scene, Uraeus.
We’ve worked hard as always to craft a line-up that, in such a short space of hours, will likely be unique in your lifetime. True to our mandate, incorporating bands old and new, straddling a broad spectrum of sub-genre, and uniting headbangers across distances of geography and, whenever we can, culture, race and religion. And then of course, above all: Metal rooted to this African soil! We trust that you will enjoy our work just as much as Cape Town has for so many years.
Our only regret? That our own team of staff is split between CT and JHB on the day and so not all of us will get to experience this first-hand.
