Cape Town, South Africa: one of the country’s hardest working death metal bands in recent years, The Fallen Prophets, is preparing for it’s second formal release following last year’s Slaughtered at the Altar debut full length album. The coming Death Conquers Life takes the format of an EP with new songs for 2017, and will be live launched at ROAR on Friday 7 July with the backing of the fast rising promotions team at From The Hive.
With two member changes since the last release, the band has been working furiously on cementing the current line-up and exploiting the collective experience of the latest additions into the band’s overall sound. Members now include original the original guitar/vocal duo with Pieter Pieterse and Francois Van Der Merwe, along with Cole Grainger on drums (formerly of Suiderbees) and Wian Bester on bass guitar (also guitarist of Imperial Destruction).
“We Wanted to release an EP to show the different style of death metal we evolved into. We all have those who inspire us and have always looked up to certain artists. We see the bar they have set;
And we aspire to exceed it!” ~ Pieter Pieterse (guitar/vocals, The Fallen Prophets)
Death Conquers Life has been recorded at the same Worlds End Studio as it’s 2016 predecessor with owner and operator Llewellyn Kapp taking the reigns of Producer. The album cover art is the result of a combined effort from Kirsten Ryklief Design and Keets Design & Photography.
In the hands of From The Hive, the launch show includes special guests The Warinsane – which exploded back onto the scene in recent months after roughly a year of hiatus, also sporting some new members – and the fast-rising The Alpha Sequence for a night of unparalleled heaviness. With a R50 entry fee, the promoter promises an experience somewhat out of the ordinary.
You’ll get a show of epic proportion, full of visual effects, crazy virtual reality and an EP launch
show our city has never seen.” ~ Brenton ‘Beez’ Cresswell (partner, From The Hive)
“We plan to turn ROAR inside out… regulars and fans wont recognize the place when we are done with it” ~ Kent Snell (partner, From The Hive)
Merchandise will be available via Wrath Inc, plus sponsorship offering tattoo vouchers, Monster Energy Drink and other cool features will maximize the entertainment value; not to mention the stars for the night themselves:
“Its still death metal …just structured better, Faster, Harder, and straight to the point. Fans can expect more energy, more music, more merch, more tours …and blood …a lot more blood!” ~ Pieter Pieterse
