Portland, USA: heavyweight metalcore band 36 Crazyfists will return to South Africa in 2018, following it’s 2015 appearance in that country at Krank’d Up Festival. The tour dates include concerts in Johannesburg and Cape Town; making up a part of the international promotional tour for 36 Crazyfist‘s recent Lanterns album.
36 Crazyfists: a will to prevail, and Lanterns to light the way
During 36 Crazyfist‘s touring cycle for it’s previous album Time and Trauma, lyrical concepts already made it clear that members were facing immense life difficulties. Yet the spirit of endurance remains a big theme in the band’s trajectory and will to overcome obstacles. Lanterns is no different in this respect as the band continued to navigate rocky waters in the build-up to a fresh album/tour cycle.
“Lanterns represents the light we all seek. These songs are all about struggling to locate it and trying to find the way to move forward and get past what has mentally hampered you in your life”. ~ Brock Lindow (vocals, 36 Crazyfists)
South Africa is lucky enough to not only share the experience of a show with the band again; but even more so in that 2018 will include a second date in a second city. Many Cape Town fans missed out in 2015 owing to the long and expensive trip to Johannesburg proving too great an obstacle; however, in 2018 the promoter, Turning Tricks Entertainment, will bring the band to the fans in that city too.
