Cape Town’s Animus Fall have just released their first studio track in almost a year, with ears being last tickled on 18 June 2014 when they released ‘Fell The Empire’ (see article here). This time, the metalcore band with a thrashy twist releases the title track from their forthcoming EP Harbinger, which is expected to be launched in July.
“Musically, ‘Harbinger’ is probably the most hard-hitting track on the EP. This is the track that’s gonna make you wanna take out your cricket bat and break stuff.” ~ Joel Dickson (vocals, Animus Fall)
Joel went on to describe the song as being one of Animus Fall‘s darkest, lyrically.
“As with any work of art, the meaning and interpretation of ‘Harbinger’ is open to all who listen to it; but for myself, it embodies the notion that we all must account for our actions, be it at the hands of other people or anything else. The Harbinger, as it is seen on the EP’s art, is in itself a metaphor for judgement and renewal.” ~ Joel
The full Harbinger EP was recorded at 7 String Studios and includes six tracks plus an intro. The cover art was created by Vinci Illustration & Design.
