Cape Town, South Africa: Creating The Godform unleashed its debut EP Odium nearly a year ago. Since then, the band got itself signed to a USA label, released a follow-up single and is poised to deliver its first full length album in 2018. However, one thing we’ve not yet seen from Creating The Godform is a live performance. This too shall come to pass. In fact, this very weekend at ROAR Live.
Primordial Dawn, Cape Town
Performing live for the first time, Creating The Godform will co-headline alongside the mighty Megalodon, 2017 winners of the South African Wacken Metal Battle. Adding to an already mouth watering line-up are Power Violence protagonists Bottom Feeder and Black Metallers Nebula Disrupt. This is about as heavy as it gets in Cape Town!
A reason for Creating The Godform‘s long delay in hitting the live scene goes beyond only refining the band’s sound and craft. Apart from members all playing for other bands as well, vocalist Shane Botha resides in Gauteng at that. He has been in Cape Town since recently, preparing for his own live debut. We spoke with him about it:
“I’ve been in Cape Town for a little over a week. Thirteen days thus far to be exact, and I must say it has been beautiful getting to experience Cape Town for the very first time as well”. ~ Shane Botha (vocals, Creating The Godform)
Although it’s not all sightseeing and sunshine for Shane. He is open about the stakes (and nerves) being high for his band’s, and his own debut stage performance.
“I’m really stoked for the show this weekend and still practicing hard in preparation for it. As a band we would love to have this show to be the best anyone could hope for. So, to say there’s excitement and nerves would be an understatement. But we are definitely looking forward to it”. ~ Shane Botha

As the event title suggests, the band plans to venture into other cities for live shows in the near future. First, however, completion of the Eve Of Hollow Mass album for 2018 takes precedence.
