Junkyard Lipstick have just released a follow-up to their 2013 debut album Hellbent which has manifest itself as The Butchers Delight, along with stunning artwork. In addition to appearing at Cape Town’s RAMfest this coming weekend, which also features the likes of USA’s Trivium and Killswitch Engage and many local acts, this Cape Town all-girl band already has an impressive array of festival appearances behind them. With the new release, Junkyard Lipstick is clearly set to drive deeper into the metal persuasions:
“We feel that this release showcases our progress on both technical and song writing fronts. We’ve pushed each other to the edge with this one; and all in the name of having great fun.” ~ Lucinda Viljoen (Drummer)
The Butcher’s Delight showcases Junkyard Lipstick‘s growth and progress as a metal band. The music has become faster, heavier and more structured. The six-track EP’s content stays true to the band’s political and religious beliefs while adding a classy touch of humour and gore.
