There can be little argument that Pestroy are one of South Africa’s most prominent underground acts, often known also to bridge the gap between entire sub-cultures ranging from metal to drum & bass and beyond. This dynamic has caused that Pestroy be the sensation of many a music festival over the years since they first surfaced in the late 90s.
Three prior releases include their 2001 debut with Skam, followed in 2004 with Counter Attack and again in 2006 when they released Enemy Within. Finally, after a long wait, fans can now acquire the bands 2013 (on Friday 13 of December) release of The Speed Of Dark via iTunes. Reports are that hard copies of the album will appear in early 2014, although no specific date has been given as yet.
Pestroy are also scheduled to perform at RAMfest 2014, Johannesburg (see facebook event page here), on the Red Heart Stage immediately prior to Trivium and Killswitch Engage during their tour to South Africa in March. This adds to the bands already impressive repertoire of support for international headliners over the years.
