Red Helen to Cape Town: first time in two years

Red Helen 2015 by Lindy Leeming

Red Helen, best known as Wacken Metal Battle: South Africa 2014 finalists who went to represent the nation at the international finals in Germany, are headed to Cape Town for a few shows for the first time in two years.

Based in Johannesburg, this metalcore band with a progressive twist have established themselves firmly since last years battle, and recently also appeared at the 21st year of the legendary South African music festival, Oppikoppi. They will be in ‘The Mother City’ for three shows in October.

“We’re extremely excited to be returning to Cape Town this October! It’s been just over two years since we last performed there and have been looking forward to returning ever since! A lot has happened over the course of the last two years and I think for a lot of people, if not most, its going to be like seeing Red Helen for the very first time! We can’t wait!” ~ Brandon Pratt (vocals, Red Helen)

Brandon explains how one of the many things he and his band mates enjoy about playing music in a band, is the fact that they get to travel and see amazing places with awesome people, all whilst performing and doing what they love to do.

“It’s an honor to have the opportunity to share what we do and love with the good people of Cape Town! We absolutely love it down there! We’re also super excited to be sharing the stage with a group of really awesome Cape Town based bands! Really can’t wait to watch and hang out with those guys and see what the Cape Town scene is like these days!” ~ Brandon Pratt
