SuiderbeeS Tear Some Flesh With Their New Album Artwork

South African symphonic death metal force, SuiderbeeS released the artwork for their upcoming album, The Segregation yesterday and it is every bit as brutal as the music is promises to contain. In fact, the art would not look out of place in one of those full-page record label ads in Metal Hammer with any manner of disturbing and vicious album art!

“Douw van Heerden and I were brainstorming about how to portray The Segregation (“Die Apartheid” in Afrikaans) without doing the obvious black versus white.” says Suiderbees frontman, Aap, “Apartheid was pretty much a battle over skin colour. This leaded us to the idea of torn flesh, as if escaping the boundaries set by skin colour. Other than us both agreeing on this I gave him complete freedom to paint what he wanted to.”

SuiderbeeS will be on tour to Gauteng as part of the Emalyth Arts Expo in January 2014.
