Witchdoctor Productions are only one month away from their spectacular re-launch tour event featuring Kataklysm, a well-loved death metal band from Canada. We use the term ‘re-launch’ on the merit that Witchdoctor Productions is the reincarnation of Witchdoctor Records who succeeded in touring a number of international extreme metal acts to South Africa in the early-to-mid 2000s (more info at our original news post on the subject).
Apart from the Kataklysm tour, we have been tantalized with the promise of Brazil’s Sepultura returning to South Africa for the second time (following their first visit more than a decade ago), plus a first time visit by the mighty Behemoth from Poland along with the Danish Konkhra all in 2014 and even bigger things promised for 2015.
Witchdoctor Productions announced last night that Cape Town’s Wildernessking will be providing local support in that city, with Durban’s Theatre Runs Red traveling to Gauteng to support the Johannesburg leg of the tour. We at M4A are rejoicing the fact that both bands are suitably dark and heavy enough to be bestowed the honour, both also having previously graced stages at RAMfest and our own SummerFest/WinterFest shows.
Early bird tickets for Behemoth go live from Saturday 21 June at R400 – running until Sunday 20 July or until sold out. Normal ticket sales will open via Computicket on Monday 21 July at R450.
Early birds can be purchased directly via the Witchdoctor Productions website (EFT only) or via True Believer membership, with costs spread out over a negotiated period.
