The Fallen Prophets: No End In Sight, out today

Cape Town, South Africa: a relentless writing motivation has The Fallen Prophets in its grasp as the band puts out yet another 2020 release with No End In Sight.

The onset of Covid-19 may have ruined a potentially good tour run for the band’s second full-length album, Relentless Killing Motivation, released in March; but they haven’t skipped a beat! Instead, the band got involved with our WinterFest’20 online festival in August, and produced an EP.

No End In Sight: diversification and guest features

The Fallen Prophets, as we’ve observed them, continue to mature in sound and style with each passing year. What started off as a purely brutal death metal project now includes layers of complexity and multiple aural textures.

“This really has broadened the sound of The Fallen Prophets in such a way that things might change in the future.  No End In Sight was inspired by Cattle Decapitation, Benighted, Dark Funeral and Nagelfar. The EP’s sound is more blackened Death Metal than Brutal death and with a lot of atmosphere.” ~ Francois van der Merwe (guitars/backing vocals, The Fallen Prophets)

This is shown off particularly well on the six tracks on No End In Sight, and the band’s use of several guests. Featured guests include: Kris Xenopoulos of Vulvodynia; Ivan Meathook of Blood Red Throne; Hiroshi “Warzy” Yamashita of Hate Beyond; plus fellow Capetownians Oliver Saggerson of Bulletscript and Justen Hosken.
