Cape Town, South Africa: melodic death metal band Thread Of Omen is celebrating its third release today with the EP Confined Reality. The band formed in 2013 and has created two full length albums previously; Palace Of The Fathers in 2015, and Vindicta in 2017.
Also notable is that Thread Of Omen battled through to the national finals in the Wacken Metal Battle in 2019. The band also traveled to Romania for a concert in 2017, and most recently provided local support for Brazil’s NervoChaos and Britain’s Monuments live in Cape Town.
Confined Reality signposts Thread Of Omen‘s development as a band, introducing new elements of songwriting and musical aspirations.
“We worked hard on creating a well-balanced and interesting listening experience. Each song has a different theme; some following a more technical approach while others are more groove and riff-based. The tracks are all slightly longer, which adds to the progressive theme of the EP.” ~ Matthew Cox (guitar, Thread Of Omen)
Thread Of Omen recorded Confined Reality with local Cape Town producer Heinrich Kollner. The cover art is the work of vocalist Victor van den Heever. The EP is being released through the recently established MMD Black division of MMD Records. Find it on all major platforms.
