Johannesburg, South Africa: representing South Africa at the 2019 international Wacken Metal Battle in Germany, Facing The Gallows may not have brought home the winning title, but the homegrown five-piece metalcore act scored a victory all the same.
The band announced today, along with the release of a music video for its new song, ‘Small Hands’, that it has also been signed by German label Out Of Line Music. The announcement comes after months of preparations, with the label and band having made first contact at Wacken Open Air Festival in 2019.
“It’s an immense feeling to be honest. There’s definitely a lot of relief that it’s happened and we can finally talk about it! We’re really excited about what the future holds for us. We know there’s going to be a lot of work, and commitment levels are going to have to exceed anything we’ve done so far to get us to where we are now. We’re not under any impression that we’ve made it, there’s so much to do and learn, but we’ve definitely got ourselves onto the next level up in this bands career.” ~ James Irving (guitar, Facing The Gallows)
Short documentary film: Wacken & Germany Tour by Facing The Gallows
Facing The Gallows took the opportunity of representing South African to film a short documentary of their travels, and to share the feelings and sensations experienced in Germany. Keep in mind that after Wacken, Facing The Gallows also went on to perform two shows as support for Ukraine’s Jinjer in other parts of Germany.
