Who Keeps Score: new song and video by Ruff Majik

Pretoria, South Africa: ‘Who Keeps Score’ is the latest offering by Ruff Majik on its journey towards another legendary stoner rock album release.

The band’s Record Label, Mongrel Records, tells us that full album, The Devils Cattle, will arrive on 30 October. In the meantime, brace yourselves for a slew of audiovisual onslaughts such as the new single on offer today; ‘Who Keeps Score’ packs in “church burning, zombies, high speed car chases, bad dancing – everything you’d want out of a B-movie, jam packed into 3’30”.

Who Keeps Score: collaborations and new faces

‘Who Keeps Score’ is also the first track to feature the band’s newest member. Ruff Majik welcomes multi-instrumentalist and producer, Evert Snyman, on lead vocals.

The animated video is a collaborative effort between Lllewellyn Van Eeden and long-time illustrator of the band, Annemarie Buchner. The idea was to illustrate and animate an enticing story-line about a band of vampire hunters that bit off a little more than they could chew.

“Vampires are at large I tell you, Vampires! Yeah. No seriously, some people are just so god damn draining. The only way to beat them is to write a loud and fast song and jam it out with some friends.” ~ Johni Holiday (vocals & guitar, Ruff Majik)
